Principal's Message

Welcome to Marshall Elementary!

We are excited to welcome you to the new school year.  We have spent the last few years transitioning curriculum and embracing the National Common Core State Standards.  Marshall Students take the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) as well as the California Science Test (CAST) every spring using technology that Marshall has in every classroom.  Marshall Elementary School is a 1:1 school. Every student has a school issued Chromebook.  Marshall Elementary utilizes the AVID College and Career Readiness System school wide.  AVID, (Advancement via Individual Determination) helps teachers prepare our students to engage in the current world and prepares them with the tools to succeed.

We will need families to come together, classes to come together, and the entire school to realize that we are stronger in our unity than we are separately.  Together we can take on and overcome any challenge, and we will be working on this throughout the year.  Whether it is during any school activity we will continue to support, promote, and encourage students to explore careers, do their best, make good choices and follow the Mustang MARK.

We ask Marshall Parents to join the PTA and support your child(ren) through their classroom and our general school activities.  Many hands make light work, through your involvement, whether it is time, talents or resources whenever possible, you will help make Marshall a great place to learn and grow.

With your help we can continue Marshall’s tradition of student academic achievement and continuous improvement.  Please take a moment to review the policies, procedures and guidelines contained in this handbook.  We will be reviewing many aspects of this handbook with all students during the first few weeks of school.  We encourage you to spend a few moments reviewing this with your child as well.

Thank you for your continued support.

We pledge to Dream Big, Work Hard and Be Strong. Go Mustangs!

Sincerely,

Yvonna Rogers, Principal
